In the late '80s and early '90s I belonged to the BC Unix Users Group. At that time it was the largest Unix users group in Western North America. When it amalgamated with Uniforum Canada the local group essentially fell apart. The monthly dinner meetings stopped, and a number of us that used to sit at the same table all the time decided that we wanted to continue somehow. We all had 2 things in common; love of beer and love of Unix.

Thus was founded BRUNIX.

Meeting on the second Wednesday of each month (summer included), typically at one of the many fine Vancouver area brew-pubs, but also known to be at a Szechwan Chinese or Japanese sushi establishment, the gathering typically starts around 6PM. BRUNIX is completely informal. The only tie between most of us is that we are on a mail list see:  granite.fireplug.net/mailman/listinfo/brunix for inclusion.

In this section I'll introduce you to some of the other people I work with.
